/ Form & Field Studio

Design credibility and build quality in one firm.

Most firms stop at the render. We own the design intelligence and the construction — so nothing is lost between drawing and room.

— Why we exist

Built from the room outward.

The studio was founded on a single observation: design firms produce concepts, contractors produce buildings, and the gap between them is where quality disappears. We closed that gap.

Every project begins with the room itself — its proportions, its light, its circulation. Material and furniture decisions come after the spatial logic is resolved, not before.

The result is work that reads as inevitable rather than assembled — spaces that function correctly and read correctly, because those two things were never separated.

• How we work

Constraint-driven from the first visit.

Site read and brief

Spatial logic first

Material honesty

Principals on site

We walk the space before we listen to the brief. Proportions, light angles, and circulation paths are documented first — the programme is shaped around what the room can actually do.

Flow, zones, and sightlines are resolved in plan before any surface or material is chosen. The concept is a spatial argument, not a mood board.

Materials are selected for how they perform in the specific light and wear conditions of that room — not for catalogue appeal or trend alignment.

The same people who drew the plans manage the build. No hand-off to a separate contractor — design intent is protected through to completion.

+ The principals

You meet us at the brief. We deliver the project.

Design Principal

Trained in architecture, focused on spatial sequence and material transition. Leads every brief, concept, and specification phase — the spatial argument is resolved here before anything else moves.

Build Principal

Twenty years of fit-out and joinery across commercial and residential builds. Manages procurement, site coordination, and quality control — the person responsible when the work meets the room.

We are a small, direct studio. No account managers, no junior hand-offs. The principals you meet at the briefing carry the project from spatial analysis through to the final snag list.
